Overall the meet went well for the beginning of the new
year. Eighty percent of our athletes in the meet had time
improvement in two or more events. Here are a few high
lights:
Relays- CAC was well represented in the girls 10 and under relays
and the boys 11 and 12 relay as well as a senior relay.
relays help build team spirit and are important to swimmers
because they are fun and swimmers must work together to reach a
goal/end result.
CAC had Erin, Cullen, Maddi, Leslie, Remi, Victoria, Cierra, Gabby
and Makayla finish in the top 4 in at least one event if not more
with Leslie, Victoria, and Remi receiving a first place
finish. Our lone swimmer in the 1,000 free was Cierra Holtman
who swam well and crushed the BB time standard and is very close to
the A time in this event and qualified for JO's in this event.
Also important is time improvement and we had many swimmers get a
B time or higher, like Anna Schlimgen in the 100 IM, 50 free,
and 50 Breast, Kailtyn Eastman in the 50 free, and Josh Goetz in
the 50 free. There are many CAC athletes that already have
motivational times but please begin the look at them as a standard
to help push your swimmer to improve. Many of you are close to
either a B time, BB time, A time or AA time or higher! My
goal is to develop an "A" team.
A HUGE THANK YOU GOES OUT TO THE PARENTS THAT WERE STROKE AND TURN
OFFICIALS, TIMERS AND HELPERS ON DECK. It really takes
everyone helping and if the meet had more stroke and turn officials
it could have been double ended and therefore gone faster.
Good reason to become a stroke and turn official!! If you are
interested let me know and I will contact Jim Flynn who is our
stroke and turn liason for the club.
If any of the results look amiss please let me know and see you at
the pool.
Next meet is Feb 5 and 6 at Bartlett.
